“Baby Sloan” is the most adorable little girl. She is polite, pretty and determined to do things her way. Kids often dictate the photo sessions. Our job as photographers is to guide the child to the set, chair, rug or area we want them photographed in, and then, let their imagination and the magic happen. We have tricks up our sleeves, but sometime, even the funniest toy or most beautiful stuffed animal won’t make a difference in the world if the child does not want to be there. We need to build a trusting relationship first, get them to like us, and photograph in a non-obstructive style. This approach works really well when parents want a “lifestyle photo session”. Here are a few highlights!
We love photographing families and giving options… Here is a classic example of family photos done in our indoor and outdoor studio. A mix of different scenarios and a change of clothes is also recommended to offer you two or more different looks. Taking our time to do it right and offering total satisfaction or your money back is our promise to you! Call us at 613-833-3335 for more information. We hope to photograph you soon!
Elegance, beauty and class in an organic country setting… This sums up Isabelle and Scott’s wedding pretty well. The museum is located on a 100-acre site in the Village of Cumberland and is home to a small number of livestock in the summer, a working sawmill, forge, carpentry and pump factory, and several other buildings of local historical significance as the schoolhouse, the church and the train station. This museum is an amazing venue for an outdoor wedding, it is only 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa and the scenery and photo opportunity are endless! We started the day with the groom’s coverage at their friend’s home followed by Isabelle’s bridal session at her parents home in Orleans. The ceremony and the reception was held on site at the Cumberland Museum. The ceremony’s location was carefully selected and designed by Stacey Price and Erin Charmichael from The Design Co. in an alley between two rows of majestic trees. It was breathtaking. When the flower petals where set, and Isabelle walked down the aisle, it was a beautiful moment. To view more photos showcasing the details, style and colour scheme from this wedding, visit The Design co‘s website. The weather was perfect, the guests mingled and visited the site while we took the wedding party and family photos. After the cocktail, we all made our way to the outdoor reception area and enjoyed nachos, tacos, pizza’s and salads from a variety of gourmet food trucks chosen by the bride and groom. Everyone partied on till the early morning!!!

This powerhouse couple have it all; great careers, amazing families and friends, beauty inside out and love, love, love!!!. The day started at the Chateau Laurier in our favourite bridal suite! Every detail was photographed and we had fun exploiting the suites versatile decor. We left the fairmont Chateau Laurier for a ceremony at the First baptist Church on Laurier Street in Ottawa. When Babak saw Sabrina walking down the aisle, everyones hearts melted. It was a beautiful moment. After the wedding ceremony, we took our time to photograph the families, wedding party and couple around the church, downtown Ottawa and at Major Hill’s park. The ceremony was help in the Chateau’s largest room, The Grand Ballroom. The ambiance, the decorations, the food, the service, everything was top notch! The night was filled with laughter, music, dancing, humour, heartfelt speeches and LOVE. Enjoy this highlight of Sabrina and Babak’s Ottawa wedding.
Commercial and interior photography assignements can be really fun and creatively stimulating. When we photograph people, technical skills and lighting are important, but the interaction with our client is the key to a great image. It is our job as a photographer to make the client look and feel comfortable in front of the lens to produce an image that they will love. When we do commercial photography… the challenge is in the lighting, the composition and the choice of lens. Photographing interiors is not easy. Factors to consider are: the time of day, extra lighting (flashes in hidden spaces to brighten up dark areas or to add texture), the choice of lens (a 200 mm for details, big open spaces with a 50 mm , smaller spaces with a wide angle), bracket exposure, height of the camera, vertical and horizontal lines, post processing, etc. Taking the time to do it right is the key. Here are a few images taken to showcase the talents of the designers and custom cabinets makers at Deslaurier in Ottawa. For more information regarding their services, you can visit their website at: Deslaurier Custom Cabinets.
This lovely couple tied the knot last fall. The day started on the Ontario side at both their home and parents home. The wedding was held at the “Paroisse St-Jacques” on Notre Dame Street, in Embrun,Ontario. This is a very majestic church in the middle of a small village that looks amazing visually, especially on photos!!! After the church wedding, we crossed over to the Quebec side to make our way to the Chateau Montebello. We love photographing weddings at Montebello. The scenery, the river, the marina, the chateau, the iconic fireplace, la maison Papineau, the stables, the trails in the woods… you name it, they have it. Let’s not forget to mention the staff at the hotel, always friendly and very helpful. The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, lot’s of laughter, amazing family and friends and lot’s of dancing!!!

At Studio G. R. Martin, we refer to Shilpa and Alex as ” The Dream Team”. They are so sweet, so nice, so polite and so beautiful! What a joy it was to get to know them during the wedding planning process. The engagement session was a great way to prepare the couple, and us, their photographers, for their big day.It really benefits both parties. We did an engagement styled session that included three locations: our studio indoor and outdoor, Cumberland Museum and Petrie Island. We made a signing book and a wonderful mounted and laminated framed canvas to showcase at the wedding. The results were fantastic! Have a look at a few of the images from their engagement book!
