We are so exited to have Andrée & Phil’s  Ottawa wedding featured in the most recent Ottawa Wedding Magazine. Julie & Joelle’s photography conference – seminar at PPDQ, Photographe Professionnels du Quebec

 

Joelle and I had the honor of speaking at the PPDQ, Photographe Professionnels Du Quebec, last Monday in Magog, Quebec. How lucky are we in our profession to have the privilege to share and learn from our peers!! We met amazing people, great photographers and learned so much by talking shop all weekend.

Congratulations Chris Stuewe ! Dancer scores mentorship in L.A.

Chris Stuewe dancer LA black & White studio Photography in Ottawa Ontario Canada

The dancer sent a video audition and learned earlier this month he was accepted into the program. “This will help him push through,” said his father Doug Stuewe. The young man will be training four hours a day, four days a week with Foglia and have one-on-one sessions with mentors of the dance company some of whom he saw perform in Gatineau on March 22 at the Hit the Floor dance competition. “She’s very versatile, which is something I’ve always strived to be,” said Stuewe of what he wants to focus on the most while training with Foglia. Bride & Groom Canada 2014 Cover – Futurs Mariés 2014

We did it again!!!!! Here is a look at the bridal photo session we did in Montreal , Quebec at Château du Vieux Montreal . We had the privilage of working with Stacey Mae Nolan, the Bride & Groom Canada National Manager and her team at ” Futurs Mariés Canada – Bride & Groom Canada” to produce images for their magazine cover and the inside feature. We also have many other wedding images that were used throughout the Bride & Groom 2014 magazine. Here is a look at the photo session we did in Montreal, Quebec.

2014 Breast Cancer Calendars for sale

Help us rase money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society by purchasing your 2014 calendar. All proceeds are devided equaly between those two organisations. You can stop by during our regular business hours ( Tuesday to Friday- 9h30AM to 5h30PM, Wednesday nights until 8h00PM and Saturdays by appointment. The calendars are $20.oo each. Portrait & Wedding Photographer of the Year in Ontario – 2009

Julie Robichaud-Martin is the Portrait  Photographer of the year in Ontario for 2009. This award was giving to her by the Professional Photographers of Ontario, an association she is proud to be a part of since 1998. The first time she received this award was  in 2001. What an honor to win it again, especially in her home town.  The Annual Banquet was held at the Crown Plaza in Ottawa; an event she had the pleasure of hosting with fellow MC Carole Dodier. She also received a judge award and won 3 class awards for best group ,wedding photojournalistic and figure study portrait. A month later,  at the Professional Photographers of Canada‘s National convention, she was in nomination for the 7th time since 1999 as  Canadian Portrait and Wedding Photographer of the Year. Her dear friend John Beesley won the title, congratulations to him.  She took home two awards for the best group portrait and the best wedding photojournalistic portrait. Her two winning images were also chosen to be a part of the Canadian Loan Collection.

Once again we have a multiple award winner in the Group Portrait and Photojournalistic Wedding categories, Julie Robichaud-Martin. Julie works with her partner, husband Guy in their studio in Ontario. They are both highly respected and award winning photographers and they continue to set the bar high with their stunning work. Le Studio G. R. Martin : une histoire de famille (Express Ottawa)

En voici des extraits:

La réputation du Studio G. R. Martin, situé à Orléans, n’est plus à faire. Voici l’histoire d’une famille animée par la même passion : la photographie.

Le Studio, qui a été fondé par Guy Martin, compte son épouse, Julie Robichaud-Martin ainsi que la fille de ce dernier, Joelle Martin.

Ceux-ci ne cessent de cumuler les prix depuis plusieurs années. 

Diplômée de La Cité collégiale en 2008, Joelle Martin a remporté la palme du Portfolio de l’année ainsi que du meilleur Portrait de l’année. Elle a également remporté deux excellences, un mérite et un ruban de créativité lors d’une compétition organisée par la Corporation des maîtres photographes du Québec (CMPQ) malgré sa jeune carrière. 

 Âgée de 20 ans seulement, Joelle travaille pour l’entreprise familiale depuis l’âge de 10 ans. «À 20 ans, elle a tellement de talents que Guy et moi souhaitons lui transmettre toutes nos connaissances pour qu’elle puisse nous surpasser un jour», indique Mme Robichaud-Martin en ajoutant que son mari l’avait également prise sous son aile à l’époque. Le trio se spécialise dans les portraits de toute sorte. «C’est plate de photographier un édifice qui ne parle pas, qui n’a pas d’émotions. Nous aimons l’interaction avec les gens», indique Julie en ajoutant qu’il n’y a rien de plus plate qu’un photographe plate. C’est pourquoi toutes leurs sessions sont accompagnées d’une consultation pour apprendre à connaître le client. 

Cette dernière cumule également les prix et a pour sa part récolté une sixième nomination pour Photographe portraitiste de l’année au Canada depuis 1999. Elle a également remporté le premier prix pour l’Album de mariage au Canada en 2006. Cette dernière a aussi eu l’occasion de se rendre en Chine, avec son conjoint, afin de représenter les photographes de l’Amérique du Nord et d’offrir, entre autres, de la formation. 

Guy Martin, qui se spécialise quant à lui dans les portraits de familles et des gens d’affaires, a été sacré Photographe portraitiste de l’année en Ontario en 2004 en plus de récolter deux nominations pour le Photographe portraitiste de l’année au Canada. Il a d’ailleurs remporté deux premiers prix pour le meilleur portrait et le meilleur portrait d’enfants. 

Ces derniers excellent également dans les photos de mariage. 

Le fait de participer à des compétitions est une motivation et revêt même un aspect de compétition entre eux.
