“Baby Sloan” is the most adorable little girl. She is polite, pretty and determined to do things her way. Kids often dictate the photo sessions. Our job as photographers is to guide the child to the set, chair, rug or area we want them photographed in, and then, let their imagination and the magic happen. We have tricks up our sleeves, but sometime, even the funniest toy or most beautiful stuffed animal won’t make a difference in the world if the child does not want to be there. We need to build a trusting relationship first, get them to like us, and photograph in a non-obstructive style. This approach works really well when parents want a “lifestyle photo session”.
