The Maharaja’s Ball took place on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario. It was an extraordinary evening with delicious food & incredible entertainment. The event also included a silent auction. Guests were able to bid on various pieces of furniture from the regions of India. Jewelry, sculptures, brass work, metal works, silks, paintings, carpets and two autographed “ Gretzky” hockey jerseys were also items available at this silent auction. The proceeds from the event went to the “Child and Youth Literacy Programs” in the City of Ottawa. Guest included Mayor Larry O’Brien with his wife Colleen McBride, Max Keeping from CTV Ottawa, Steve Madely from CFRA and Stuntman Stu. The event was organized by Nalin Bhargava & Mamta Gautam.
