Hip Hop Baby turns 1 years old – Ottawa Children Photography

Beautiful Downtown Ottawa Wedding – Sylvie & Derek

Sylvie & Derek ‘s wedding day was beautiful. We had fun together and took our time to create artistic wedding images. This wedding is a classic example of the clients giving us enough time to do what we do best. Having the time to do the formal photos and having more time to create unique and artistic images is a very important factor in wedding photography. We requirer a minimum of 1h30 for the family, wedding party and couple photos on a typical wedding day. If we get more time, bonus ! A new growing trend now is to take the couple’s photos before the ceremony to allow them to spend more time with their guests! Something to think about when planning your special day…. Ottawa Fitness Photography – GoodLife Fitness personal trainer competes

Dominik Chartrand is a 21 year old personal Trainer at Goodlife Fitness in Orleans, Ottawa, Ontario. She’s been training for more than 5 months for her first upcoming fitness competion on Saturday October 24th 2009 in Hamilton ( UFE – Ultimate Fitness Events –

http://www.ufeshows.com/). She will also be competing at the OPA’s Ottawa and Eastern Ontario Championships on November 7th, 2009. With a strong background in Gymnastic, it felt natural for her to start competing in Fitness competions. It was a pleasure for us to photograph her in our studio. We laughed hysterically together as she was doing push ups and sit ups before getting into her poses. Congratulation Dominik & Goodluck!

Maharaja Ball 2009,Westin Hotel-Ottawa Event Photography

The Maharaja’s Ball took place on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario. It was an extraordinary evening with delicious food & incredible entertainment. The event also included a silent auction. Guests were able to bid on various pieces of furniture from the regions of India. Jewelry, sculptures, brass work, metal works, silks, paintings, carpets and two autographed “ Gretzky” hockey jerseys were also items available at this silent auction. The proceeds from the event went to the “Child and Youth Literacy Programs” in the City of Ottawa. Guest included Mayor Larry O’Brien with his wife Colleen McBride, Max Keeping from CTV Ottawa, Steve Madely from CFRA and Stuntman Stu. The event was organized by Nalin Bhargava & Mamta Gautam. Here are highlights’ of this wonderful charity event.

Ottawa Fall Wedding Photography – Hilton Casino Lac Leamy

Here is another beautiful wedding we photographed at the Hilton Casino Lac Leamy in Gatineau, Québec. Michelle & Paul tied the knot on October 10-th, 2009. The fall colors were in their prime and the wedding was a lovely intimate event. No traveling time was needed as all the photos were taken around the Hilton and Casino. The hotel is wonderful for indoor photography We spend a lot of time taking pictures of all the little details that make every wedding unique. This is usually done in the morning while the bride is getting ready and when we arrive at the reception hall. We love using these images for cluster pages, collages or fillers in the wedding albums.

This was a 3 hour on location wedding. We are so happy we got all these photos done in a short amount of time. This is when training and experience come into play. Creative Passport Photos

Passport photos can be sooo boring to photograph! Especially when your client is a 3 year old child full of energy. Rules like : keep your shoulders straight,don’t smile, sit still are not in their daily routines… After the passport photo was done, we decided to have a little bit of fun! Don’t forget to ask a Child what her favorite object of the day is and exploit it to the max!!

Franca & Luca- Ottawa Fall Wedding Photography

Wow, Wow, Wow ! Timeless photography images is what we say when we look at Franca & Luca’s wedding day.

We are so happy to have finished designing Franca and Luca’s wedding album. To showcase their wedding photos, we designed a modern layout mixed with a classic style 25 page 12×12 acrylic cover leather wedding album from our favorite album makers “Creation Dia”.

Franca is all about details…and did she ever do a fine job in choosing the best of the best for her dream wedding. From the dress to the shoes, from the ceremony to the first dance, from the endless details throughout the evening… everything was first class. Franca and Luca’s wedding day was on a warm fall day, the colors in the trees were in their prime and the formal photography session took place at the Parliament of Canada. The ceremony was at the Notre dame Basilica on Sussex street and the reception was held at the “Sala San Marco” on Preston street in “little Italy” Ottawa.

The photos on parliament hill are always amazing because we get a mix of architecture and greenery. When it it sunny, the open spaces can create a challenging lighting situation. In this case, we love to use arches and door ways because it created a strong directional light that comes from the side and not from the top.

Portrait & Wedding Photographer of the Year in Ontario – 2009

Julie Robichaud-Martin is the Portrait Photographer of the year in Ontario for 2009. This award was giving to her by the Professional Photographers of Ontario, an association she is proud to be a part of since 1998. The first time she received this award was in 2001. What an honor to win it again, especially in her home town. The Annual Banquet was held at the Crown Plaza in Ottawa; an event she had the pleasure of hosting with fellow MC Carole Dodier. She also received a judge award and won 3 class awards for best group ,wedding photojournalistic and figure study portrait. A month later, at the Professional Photographers of Canada‘s National convention, she was in nomination for the 7th time since 1999 as Canadian Portrait and Wedding Photographer of the Year. Her dear friend John Beesley won the title, congratulations to him. She took home two awards for the best group portrait and the best wedding photojournalistic portrait. Her two winning images were also chosen to be a part of the Canadian Loan Collection.

Ottawa-Gatineau Park Cottage Wedding

Cottage and back yard weddings are on the rise in the Ottawa – Outaouais regions. We are commissioned to photograph more and more relax style cocktail, back yard and cottage weddings. The relax/ no stress atmosphere is in high demand by todays modern couples. If photography is important on your wedding day as much as being with your guests for the cocktail time, then, this type of wedding is perfect for you. There is no traveling time for the photography session, no need to rent expensive cars and limousines and you have more time with your guests. Just make sure you have a tent, we all know what the weather can be like in Ontario…. Let’s just say, Lise-Anne and Michelle were so lucky . It was raining for days before the wedding ( Michelle has devoted parents that stayed up in the middle of the night to save the tent from collapsing under the torrential downpour. It was pouring rain the morning of their wedding, then, by early afternoon, the rain stopped. To top it off, during the outdoors ceremony, the sun came out just as the singer sang the lyrics” I see skies of blue, and clouds of white” from ” What a wonderful world”. It put a smile on everyones face. The photos were all done outside and we were blessed with a few rainbows just as we were doing the couple’s photos. How lucky is that. Stories of the wedding day and of the behind the scene events will be talked about in their families forever :). Thank you Lise-Anne and Michelle for letting us photograph your beautiful wedding day.
