Lachapelle family Photography – Ottawa outdoor studio

It’s this time of year again! Our outdoor studio is ready, almost every plant survived the long winter , did I say …long winter… We are now booking family sessions in June, Tuesday to Friday, 9h30 am to 5h30 pm, Wednesday nights until 8h00 PM and we still have a few opening for Saturday, june 18th. We also have a few Saturdays available in July and august. Call us at 613-824-8525 for more information.

I wanted to highlight a family session taken last year at our outdoor studio in Cumberland, Ontario. The Lachapelle family decided to dress in casual clothing with white tops and jeans, which are great for outdoor photos. They were a joy to photograph. We laughed a lot and took the time to photograph each family, kids, siblings and grandparents. The results were amazing! A typical family session lasts about 1.5 hours. Tania & Francois – Ottawa Wedding photography

Wedding season is just around the corner! If you are an Ottawa soon to be bride and still haven’t booked your photograph yet, we still have a few dates available for the 2011 wedding season.

Here are some samples of a wedding photographed in Ottawa. Tania and Francois were the perfect wedding couple. They put their 100 % trust in us as wedding photographers and the results are outstanding. Joelle photographed this wedding along with her good friend and fellow Ottawa photographer Baz. The weather was great for an October wedding, the wedding party was crazy fun and the couple awesome… A wonderful wedding day in the capital!

We started our day at the groom house here in Orleans and then made our way to the mother of the bride’s house in the Gloucester area. The ceremony was held at the St Francois d’Assise church. We then re located to the downtown Ottawa byward market area for some family, wedding party and couple photos. The wedding party was great to work with and our couple was so down to earth! The night ended at the Hampton Inn in Ottawa. All the personal touches Tania and Francois added to their wedding day made this wedding so unique – the bride’s bright red shoes, the black feathers that were incorporated in the flower bouquets and in their table centerpiece and of course… Tania’s red gloves..

Miller Family – Ottawa family photography

It’s dosen’t really look like spring yet, but, the snow will finaly melt soon ( we hope), because we already have families booked for outdoor sessions at our studio. This is an example of the family photos we do around the pond. Nicole and Greg were the first at our studio to have a 24×36 wall size printed from our first canon 10D digital camera. Now, 10 years later, they came back for an ” update” . They are a wonderful ” close” family and we always have fun photographing them. Refering to the first session at the museum of civilisation ( see the photo at the bottom of the post) their daughter Emily took a photo of my husband Guy during the photoshoot with my camera. It’s a great photo of Guy with an umbrella covering his Mamiya RZ67, loking up at the sky waiting for the rain to stop. I still have this 8×10 in my room. Great job Emily! ( I’ll try to find it and post it soon)

Mel & J-F – Engagement Photography Session in Ottawa

Melissa & J-f have less then a month left before their Big wedding day! They are the sweetest couple and are perfect together. I’m lucky to have her as my hair stylist ( Melissa Robert recently opened her hair salon in Orleans, Ontario called Studio M. The engagement photography session was taken at our Cumberland studio ( indoor and outdoor) and at Petrie Island (located on the Ottawa River, in the Orleans area). We can’t wait to photograph their wedding in April… Here are a few highlights of their engagement photo session!

This window is in our studio. We love mixing the natural light with the flash backlight from the set window.

This beautiful light acrylic wall is in our front entrance under a covered porch. We use the natural light ( no flash) in this spot because of the directional light coming from the side. The natural reflector created by the other white walls fill in the dark areas creating a beautiful wrap around light.

These next set of outdoor photos are taken mostly in the shaded areas of our pond and outdoor gardens.

Amy Smith – Ottawa Modeling, Glamour & Boudoir Photography

I can’t say enough about Amy Smith. Sweet, gorgeous, generous, stunning, funny….in short: a photographers dream!. She came in to get her boudoir / glamour photos done at our studio during the Christmas rush and made time stop 🙂 We forgot we were working 16 hours a day and just had soooooooo much fun. She’s great in front of the camera and lights up any room we posed her in.

Fannie & Benoit -A Summer Wedding in Rockland, Ontario

Fannie & Benoit got married last summer in Rockland. It was a beautiful summer day and everything was perfect ( including the couple)! We covered two locations in the morning ( the groom’s parents home and the bride’s), then off to the church in Rockland. We did the photography session of the family and wedding party next to the church and took the couple to our outdoor estate studio in Cumberland for a little variety. Their reception was in Rockland at the “Chevalier de Colombs” reception Hall. The couple’s entrance in the hall was one of the most original/fun and entertaining we had ever seen! They rocked the hall…Here are a few photos of their memorable day!

Ottawa Portrait Photography – The Connoly sisters

Christine & Kathleen Connolly were photographed at our outdoor studio in Ottawa ( Cumberland, Ontario) and in a nearby field. We’ve been taking their photos for at least 12 years with the ” Ecole de danse louise” . I used to teach them dance a long time ago and now, they are both dance teachers at that school ( and very good ones might I add :)). Mom and Dad wanted photos of the girls on their walls and that’s our specialty! The photos are mounted and laminated on a acid free ragmat board and then laminated and textures to give it a rich canvas look. We then framed them in a classic dark/brown moulding with a golden undertone… Beautiful! Have a look at some images from the photo shot!

Ottawa Wedding – Stephanie & Shane’s wedding Day

Stephanie & Shane got married on a Friday in July and Joelle and I had the honor of photographing their special day. We love to photograph engagement session around Ottawa because it’s a great way to get to know our couples better before the wedding…but, that special spark ignites the day of the wedding 🙂

Shane got right into his photo session ( with the help of his groomsmen of course – let’s say some of them where really into it, it was great!) Then, we went to the brides home, and Steph was sooooooooooooo comfortable in front of the camera ( This bride can move :)) Stephanie is our model bride of the year ! She gave us so many different expressions per minute and moved like she had done photo sessions all her life.

The day was perfect, and the bride and groom were perfect for each other! We had a blast photographing them and their wedding party at the National gallery of canada. After the wedding ceremony at the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, we walked around the By-ward market. We made our way to the reception at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier. Here are some highlights of their wedding day!

Danika’s Dance Photo Session in Ottawa

Danika is a very good dancer and has been taking ” ballet pointe class” for the last 4 years. She came in for a photo session and showcased her dance moves! We had a lot of fun and the results are fabulous.Here is a little video of the dance portrait session we just did at our Studio!
