Gabriel & Suzy! Another fun engagement photo session we got to photograph downtown Ottawa. The cold weather did not stop us from capturing these great images…although it was nice to warm up in a coffee shop for 15 minutes…and keep clicking away! Kim and Matt are good friends of ours. We wanted to photograph them in a candid and relax environment (like most men, Matt was a little bit nervous about this photo shoot ;)). A big part of our job as professional photographers is to create a pleasant environment in order to put our clients at ease. These photos were taken along the aviation parkway, Ottawa East. Sylvie & Derek ‘s wedding day was beautiful. We had fun together and took our time to create artistic wedding images. This wedding is a classic example of the clients giving us enough time to do what we do best. Having the time to do the formal photos and having more time to create unique and artistic images is a very important factor in wedding photography. We requirer a minimum of 1h30 for the family, wedding party and couple photos on a typical wedding day. If we get more time, bonus ! A new growing trend now is to take the couple’s photos before the ceremony to allow them to spend more time with their guests! Something to think about when planning your special day…. Here is another beautiful wedding we photographed at the Hilton Casino Lac Leamy in Gatineau, Québec. Michelle & Paul tied the knot on October 10-th, 2009. The fall colors were in their prime and the wedding was a lovely intimate event. No traveling time was needed as all the photos were taken around the Hilton and Casino. The hotel is wonderful for indoor photography We spend a lot of time taking pictures of all the little details that make every wedding unique. This is usually done in the morning while the bride is getting ready and when we arrive at the reception hall. We love using these images for cluster pages, collages or fillers in the wedding albums.
This was a 3 hour on location wedding. We are so happy we got all these photos done in a short amount of time. This is when training and experience come into play. Joelle Martin and Brent Gervais did a fabulous job at photographing this wedding 🙂

We can’t stop talking about Doris and Luc’s wedding day…This wedding was magical! What an honor for two photographers to photograph a couple sooooooooooooo in love. We started the photography session at the bride’s home, then, photographed the ceremony, photo session and reception at the Ottawa Fairmont Château Laurier. We took a walk at Major Hill’s park for the couple’s photos .Here is a sneak peek at their wedding day.

3 times Brigitte had to come to our Orleans studio from Gatineau, Quebec for Eva’s 1 year old photography portrait session. All her other kids were photographed on their 1st birthday , so this was a must. At Studio G. R. Martin, we have a very relaxed approach about children photography. If a child does not cooperate the first time, bring them back until they do….Little Eva’s 3rd session was a charm ! Her mom never lost confidence in us and we never gave up either. This winning combination of determination and persistence made this image earn a well deserved 24×36 canvas in our gallery.

Welcome baby girl,
A beautiful baby girl in the family. Guy and I took these pictures at the Ottawa Hospital, Adi was not even a full day old. The photos we’re done in the hospital room, using simple window light technique – instead of using the flash and blasting the subject.
We can’t wait to do an official baby portrait of Adrienne in our studio.
