Sarah and Matt tied the knot on a beautiful summer day. The venue was amazing. For a short time, the Carleton University in Ottawa accepted to do weddings and Sarah and Matt were fortunate to be amongst the very few that got the chance to use this new conference center in Ottawa. Sarah looked radiant, beautiful and elegant in her McCaffrey designer dress and Matt, so handsome. The wedding ceremony was on the Carleton University terrace overlooking the park and river. It was a beautiful setting. To make it even better, Keith Langille, from exceptional ceremonies preformed the ceremony and made it original, unique, and added just the right amount of humor to keep the guests and family totally connected from beginning to end!
The family , wedding party and couple photos were done on the terrace and Carleton University grounds. Here are some highlights of the wedding day.
Congratulations again Sarah and Matt. You are perfect for each other. We wish you the best!
Kim and Justin met in 2002 while they were both still attending high school. Justin was in grade 12 and Kim was in grade 10. Although they both went to the same high school (St. Matthews), they did not know each other before they started dating. They met each other for the first time when Kim was invited to go to Justin`s house with a mutual friend. That night Justin asked Kim for her number and they quickly began dating. Justin officially asked Kim if she wanted to “make things official” on October 9th, 2002 and they have been together ever since!!!
The wedding day started at the groom’s house in Ottawa. Then, we made our way to the Arc Hotel where we photographed Kim and the girls getting ready (she had the cutest flower girls ever) The rest of the wedding day was at Stanley’s Olde Maple farm in Edwards, Ontario. The venue is great for photos, the staff is very helpful and the weather was blazing hot- actually, it was the warmest day we’ve had so far all summer. On another note, Earl from Stanley’s Olde Maple farm went above and beyond for the couple as Kim wanted a photo with her favorite tree, the weeping willow. Since Earl did not have one on his property, he drove around Edwards to find one for Kim. That is great service! Kim and Justin, you are perfect for each other!!! During the whole day you both were so happy, relaxed and spontaneous that photographing you was such a pleasure… Here are some highlights of your wedding day.

As promised, here are highlights from Talia & Jonny’s Ottawa- Cumberland Museum wedding. The day started at their parents riverfront property in Ottawa. Jonny got ready there with his groomsmen and family while sharing stories, fixing each others bow ties & drinking Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky. We then made our way to the core of the of the city, the Novotel Hotel for Talia’s bridal coverage. Their outdoor ceremony took place at the Cumberland Museum. During the formal family, wedding party and couple photos, their guests got to visit the museum and explore the grounds. The reception was back at Talia’s parents home for a wonderful evening overlooking the Ottawa river. As soon as we arrived, the celebration quickly started with the Horah followed by a full night of diner, dancing, fun and laughter! Congratulations Talia and Jonny!

At Studio G.R. Martin, we love weddings! We love to capture and record the events of the wedding day as they happen, but, we also love to help create wonderful moments. Katie and Jon are so great together. Jon is handsome and charming, has an awesome personality and a great smile. Katie is beautiful, sweet, kind and so generous. The day was well planned. We covered the groom at his parents house and the bride at her friends house in the morning. Then, tried to make our way on time to the Notre Dame Basilica church during race weekend. The road closed a few minutes before we got there, so, i jumped out of the car and tried to get police cars to escort us to the church on time. The two first cops were so nice and sympathetic, told me to wait 5 minutes for a vehicule to escort us and the limo………then, the big cop in charge arrived to say: NO,NO,NO….I tried, I begged, asked him if he was a romantic and that the bride would have a great story to tell her kids one day about the nice cop who got her to the church on time…….Well, he obviously was NO romantic, cause he told me to get back in the car and get in the traffic jam line like everyone else…:( So, Katie got there late, but the priest was so nice about it and said not to worry cause he is always stuck in traffic too…LOL. The rest of the day went by like a charm and the reception at Sala San Marco was great. Katie and Jon are surrounded by great friends and a wonderful family. The food was excellent, from the sushi to the oysters, to the antipasto to the fancy hors d’oeuvre…And to top it off, the 24 course meal :). I highly recommend this venue.
In conclusion, weddings are full of emotions and it’s our job to capture those moments on camera. During the wedding party photos, the sky started to change and dark clouds started rolling in. We took the couple in a courtyard full of crab apple trees in full bloom. The wind was blowing pink petals…it was magical. Moments like these are what we thrive for as wedding photographers. Here is a look at Katie and Jon’s wedding day!
I would like to introduce a new videographer that works with us to create unique wedding story videos. Here is his artistic twist on Katie and Jon’s wedding day. His name is Brenden Palmer from BHCP Media and we are proud to introduce him and work with him. Call us for information on his video package. Here is his short film.

Mason and Laurence met on campus at Queen’s university. You can find out more about how they met and have a look at their engagement session by “clicking here“. This couple managed to plan their wedding between long hours of residency and studying to become doctors. They got some help from family of course, but, to pull this off you must be very dedicated and organized.
We started the day at the bride’s parents home in Ottawa, then made our way to the Chateau Laurier for some photos of the groom and his groomsmen. The ceremony was held at the National Art center in Ottawa followed by a wedding reception at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier. The family, bridal party and couple photos were taken downtown Ottawa. When I think of grace, beauty and elegance, I think of Laurence. She is in every way a true beauty. Mason is a beautiful person inside and out, he is kind, generous and, a true gentlemen. Guy and I had so much fun taking their wedding photos, but, most of all, enjoying their company. We wish them the best of luck with their new careers and life together as newlyweds!
