Josée & Danny just got engaged last September and to celebrate their engagement, we decide to capture their love on camera! We photographed them at a friends cottage in Lac Simon, Quebec ( just 40 minutes from Mont Tremblant, in the Laurentian area). Here are a few highlights from the on location engagement session. Wow ! This is the one word I could find to describe this wonderful photo shoot with this wonderful couple. Guy and I are so happy to be photographing their destination wedding next year in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! The couple wanted to stay away from the “beach theme” for this photo shoot as there will be plenty of sand and ocean themed images in their wedding photos….After talking about options… they went for an outdoors’ theme to illustrate how they like to spend time together! They love the outdoors, picnic’s & camping weekends, so why not just tag along “with our cameras” and record ” a day in the life of Avery & Jasmin”! We started the photo shoot at our studio in Cumberland Ontario using natural light. We then did a few photos around the pond at our outdoor studio and made our way to Petrie Island in Orleans to finish the photo shoot. It was pure joy to photograph them. The love they share is so infectious.. it just makes you want to photograph them for hours…Jasmin can’t stop smiling when he looks at Avery (she has that effect on everyone! ) Her beauty and bubbly, full of life personality mixed with his handsome charm and amazing personality make this couple perfect for each other! We really can’t wait to capture every moment of their special day!

Stephanie and Tarik were married last weekend in a beautiful ceremony at Ottawa’s most famous church, the Saint Patrick’s Basilica. Prior to the wedding day, we love to photograph each couple and learn what they like, how they interact with each other in front of the camera and most of all, with us! We spend a lot of time with them on one of the most important day of their lives, so, the engagement session is a very important and we recommend that every engaged couple take advantage of this free gift! We love relaxed and unposed moments but never forget to mix the new style of photography with our specialty: classic portraiture. Mastering the art of studio lighting and posing are essential for photographers ; therefore creating a timeless image that will stand the test of time and be cherished for generations to come.

Stephanie and Mark were a great couple to photograph. We chose the candid, modern, unposed approach as it suited their personality and style. Here is a little story of how they met! “We met at hope volley ball 3 years ago. He offered to helped me carry my cooler. Luckily he was friends with a bunch of my friends so we where able to hang out a few more times after that. We quickly became friends, eventually best friends. We soon realized we wanted a lot of the same things in life. ( big family, travel, goals, and dreams). Our lives are full of ups and downs but we wouldn’t change it for a second because we have each other.”
They had a beautiful wedding August 4th and we can’t wait to post images of their wedding day! Until then, here is a look at their engagement photo session done in our indoor and outdoor studio in Cumberland, Ontario!

Everything started at Carleton university in 2008 for this couple! The bride explains how they met” It was a first day of a school and we were both in our 3rd year of engineering, Yashar was with his friends (who I knew too) when I joined them to go to the library. There was something there…..we were walking and talking and we had no idea we were already in the library…time just stood still, it was a magical moment. In February 2010, at a cozy restaurant in Old Montreal, he proposed. It was so perfect and I could not stop crying, I was so happy that although it was cold and snowy I could walk in my high heels and thin jacket without complaining:). That spring, we both graduated together from the Engineering program. After he finished his Master’s degree, we got married!”
This is a wonderful, beautiful, smart couple meant to be together. We created amazing images with them during their engagement session and their wedding. Here is what the bride has to say about us:” We are so happy and special thanks to all of you, you are the best photographers ever, and we really mean it, you have no idea how much you guys made ourselves and our family happy and proud with your great job! (so far it is been next to impossible to look throught all the wedding images and not cry)”.

After almost seven years together, Maggie & Steve are making it “official” on July 28th,2012.
I just visited their wedding web site and it’s awesome! A great way for photographers and guests to get to know the wedding couple, wedding party and information needed for the big day. Engagement photos are also a great way for the photographers and the couple to get to know each other. Here is a little quote from the email we got from Maggie after the E-session “I knew your photos were amazing and that’s why I chose you, but I had no idea that you had so many little tricks and positioning directions, it was so helpful, you made us feel at ease! I’m so glad we had that opportunity because it’s made us both so much more excited for the wedding photos!!! This is why we love to do engagement sessions! The ceremony will be held at the St. Patrick’s Basilica in Ottawa followed by a reception and diner at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier!
They are beautiful, in love and a joy to photograph! ( And for all you “hopeless romantics” out there….. maybe you will fall head over heels for the “hot produce guy” at your local supermarket!!!

Valerie and Grant’s engagement photo session was so fun to do. We all took turns at photographing this lovely couple. These are one hour photo sessions because we love to take our time to get to know the couple before their wedding day. It was easy to capture their beauty and the love between each other. Their individual personalities shone through each and every shot. Valerie and Grant’s big day is TODAY… July 14th, 2012. We love using the natural light in our new Cumberland, Ottawa Portrait Studio. Sometimes, we will mix strobe and natural light for a different effect.

Take a look at a fresh new storybook concept for this newly engaged couple Sarah & Matt.
They met when they were 16 years old. Matt recalls his many attempts to get Sarah to go out with him. Almost a year passed before she agreed to go on a date with him. Their 7 year romance became official last Christmas eve!
