Dedra – Modeling photography

Beautiful Dedra… We have had the great pleasure of photographing Dedra ever since she started dancing when she was a little girl…..And this girl can dance….she is incredible. She is now in Toronto, Ontario studding dance and wanted to work on her portfolio images. We had a lovely photo session at our photography studio in Cumberland, Ontario. We went from natural light to flash, changes set-up many times and just had fun. Since she can move so well, we elaborated on her posing skills and incorporated some dance moves in her portrait session. Here are some highlights of the photo session.

Baby & Family Photography studio in Ottawa Ontario

We first met Nancy and Johnny when we photographed their wedding in 2008. We printed an acrylic 10×10 flush mount album and entered it in the Professional Photographers Of Ontario competition in 2009. We won first place for the “best wedding album of the year in Ontario”. Since then, they’ve welcomed two beautiful baby boys into their family. Here is a look at the photos taken in our Ottawa “Cumberland” studio. We love to include the parents when we photograph new born babies and we also have many different props and settings to choose from… Here is a look at photos we did the salvati family!

Melissa & Jason – Engagement / Couple Photography in Ottawa

We love photographing couples. When we go on location, it’s usually because the couple wants an album or a signing book for their reception table. Knowing in advance the kind of product the couple will order, make us tailor the way we photograph during the session. Here is the layout for a 15 pages- 30 sides – vertical 8×12 metallic papers – Hard back cover book. All the images were taken downtown Ottawa, around the Byward market, the courtyard, Major Hill’s Park and York street. We can’t wait to photograph their wedding in September 2012! Annyx & Martin – Fun Couple engagement Photography – Ottawa

We are so exited…. Annyx and Martin are to be married this weekend… This will be a beautiful wedding as I already saw a photo of the weding dress and I can’t wait to see it on Annyx. What a fun couple, so in love and romantic… Martin is all “cool, calm, caring and collected” and Annyx …well, I don’t have enough words to describe her bubbly, awesome personality…always smilling, an amazing model, loves the camera and the camera loves her and so tall and beautiful! Let’s just say Guy and I will have to bring a bench to photograph them, lol…

Family Photography at our Cumberland Studio

Last year I posted images of Celine’s photo session with her daughter taken around our Pond. She came back this year to take new photos and we did them in our indoor photo studio. I wanted to include again the ones from last year to show you the difference with the same client between the indoor and outdoor studio.

Lachapelle family Photography – Ottawa outdoor studio

It’s this time of year again! Our outdoor studio is ready, almost every plant survived the long winter , did I say …long winter… We are now booking family sessions in June, Tuesday to Friday, 9h30 am to 5h30 pm, Wednesday nights until 8h00 PM and we still have a few opening for Saturday, june 18th. We also have a few Saturdays available in July and august. Call us at 613-824-8525 for more information.

I wanted to highlight a family session taken last year at our outdoor studio in Cumberland, Ontario. The Lachapelle family decided to dress in casual clothing with white tops and jeans, which are great for outdoor photos. They were a joy to photograph. We laughed a lot and took the time to photograph each family, kids, siblings and grandparents. The results were amazing! A typical family session lasts about 1.5 hours. Miller Family – Ottawa family photography

It’s dosen’t really look like spring yet, but, the snow will finaly melt soon ( we hope), because we already have families booked for outdoor sessions at our studio. This is an example of the family photos we do around the pond. Nicole and Greg were the first at our studio to have a 24×36 wall size printed from our first canon 10D digital camera. Now, 10 years later, they came back for an ” update” . They are a wonderful ” close” family and we always have fun photographing them. Refering to the first session at the museum of civilisation ( see the photo at the bottom of the post) their daughter Emily took a photo of my husband Guy during the photoshoot with my camera. It’s a great photo of Guy with an umbrella covering his Mamiya RZ67, loking up at the sky waiting for the rain to stop. I still have this 8×10 in my room. Great job Emily! ( I’ll try to find it and post it soon)

Mel & J-F – Engagement Photography Session in Ottawa

Melissa & J-f have less then a month left before their Big wedding day! They are the sweetest couple and are perfect together. I’m lucky to have her as my hair stylist ( Melissa Robert recently opened her hair salon in Orleans, Ontario called Studio M. The engagement photography session was taken at our Cumberland studio ( indoor and outdoor) and at Petrie Island (located on the Ottawa River, in the Orleans area). We can’t wait to photograph their wedding in April… Here are a few highlights of their engagement photo session!

This window is in our studio. We love mixing the natural light with the flash backlight from the set window.

This beautiful light acrylic wall is in our front entrance under a covered porch. We use the natural light ( no flash) in this spot because of the directional light coming from the side. The natural reflector created by the other white walls fill in the dark areas creating a beautiful wrap around light.

Ryan Family – Ottawa family outdoor photography

December was a busy month getting all the photos printed in time for christmas! We printed, and printed and printed…and spent hours preparing and retouching each image individually. No detail is overlooked ! Looking back on all the photos I printed, I notice I have a lot more blog posts to do and I am sooooooo behind….

We already have bookings for family photos this summer and it made me think of all the photos we created that I did not have time to show you. Kim Ryan made sure the whole family would be there at the time of this photo session. This took a lot of planning and many months of phone calls and consultations, but, she made it happen. Photographed at our beautiful outdoor studio in Cumberland, Ontario, this family demonstrated a classic example of the types of sessions we love to do. The large group, the immediate family, the grand-parents and each individual family and their kids.And above all, we have a lot of fun creating it 🙂 Plan to be here for a good 1h30 to 2 hrs because the pond and waterfall setting created a wonderful photographic experience and each family gets to enjoy the scenery while waiting for their turn.
