Sweet Sixteen Ottawa Photography

Beautiful Katii ! Sweet sixteen ! Put all this together and this is what you get 🙂 Katelyn saw a photo that my buddy, “fellow awesome photographer James Hodgins in Sudbury” you can connect to his BLOG here, did for a competition and fell in love with the idea of the girl and the lollipop. So, on her sixteeth birthday she did a trip to the hairdresser and arrived at our studio all pretty in pink. Joelle did a fabulous job at capturing Kate’s fun personality and beauty. Lifestyle family and children photography- Ottawa Ontario

Emilie’s lifestyle photo book was delivered by purolator on December 24th,ouf!!! just in time for my Christmas gifts. Let’s just say this is the best present I ever gave my Mom and Dad. We were not even at the 5th page and the box of tissues was out and the emotion, smiles and tears of joy were flooding the room around the Christmas tree.

My job as a photographer is to capture the personality, innocence and beauty of a child and those candid unexpected moments as they unfolds. We are proud to introduce our “Lifestyle photo book packages” for 2010. The response has already been overwhelming and we have already been commissioned to photograph 2 “lifestyle family books” this spring. These sessions take at least 2.5 hours and include a studio and on location session ( preferably in and around your home) with 2 photographers ( Guy, joelle or Julie). Studio Family Photography

Classic high key photography is timeless. Here are two examples of different studio lighting. The first image is with a soft box at F-11 and the fill at F-8. The second images is done using diffused window light with a bounce flash behind the window at f-9.5 and the fill at f5.6. This gives us a more dramatic light. We have only 3 months left to use this wonderful background on Youville Drive.

Winter Weddings in the National Capital

Winter weddings are great to do in the nations Capital. The city looks beautiful with all the lights and we can do great outdoor photography. Linda and Kim’s wedding was on a very cold day, I think it was -30 with the wind chill…..but, we still did a few photos outdoors. Their coffee table book is stunning. They went for the 10×10 high gloss laminate pages. With the beautiful warm colors inside the church and the Chateau Laurier, it looks amazing. Here are some of the pages in the book. Enjoy.

Ottawa High School Senior Photography

Beautiful Justine is our co-op student from Ecole Secondaire Gisele Lalonde in Orleans. She is great in every way. To thank her for doing such a good job and having wonderful work ethics, Joelle offered her a photo shoot. (To become a photographer, you have to learn to be in front of the camera as much as being behind it). This photo session was taken on location at a Stable.

Outdoor Family Photography – Studio G.R. Martin New Estate Studio

Organizing a family portrait can be a challenge. Sometimes, they are long in the making…just like The “Morin” family that called us more then a year before we did this session. All it takes is a little planning :). We could not be happier with this session. Their choice of colors and style match beautifully with the pond decor. A session always has 3 scenarios included; The extended family, the immediate family and the grand-parents (couple or individual). We can also add sub-groups like in this case, of every individual family and their children. Have a look!

We already have family bookings for next year. If you have a get together, or a family reunion planned and you would like family photos, it’s not to early to book for next year. Our Cumberland outdoor studio and pond can provide a beautiful background with controlled lighting even on sunny days. On top of this, we don’t need a plan “B” because our new indoor studio is a few feet away, and, it can accommodate large groups up to 40 people. Outdoor Children Photography – Ottawa Lifestyle sessions

This is a preview of a book we are designing for our new “Lifestyle family portrait sessions”. They include a two hour minimum photo session in our studio or at the location of your choice and a large 40 page coffee table book. These books tell a story, a little like this one we are creating. It’s the story of ” a day in the life of a three year old”. Our goal is to capture your child’s many expressions and true personality in a series of events and playtime. On Location Candid Family Photography

Caroline and her kids were a joy to photograph. We went in their backyard and our mission was simple; it’s all about the moment….not the pose. Sometimes a great image doesn’t have to be all perfectly poses. In this case, we were matching a photo her husband had done 10 years ago with his 2 children. This choice of clothes matches this sepia image very well. Consultations are the key to a successful portrait photo session!
